Free Kundli (Janam Kundli)
Enter birth details to get the North Indian chart, planet placements, Moon sign and nakshatra. Nothing is stored on our servers.
What these terms mean
- Lagna
- The sign rising on the eastern horizon at birth. It sets house 1 and needs an accurate birth time.
- Rashi
- Moon sign: the sign the Moon occupied at birth. Used for guna milan.
- Nakshatra
- One of 27 lunar mansions of 13°20′ each. The Moon's nakshatra drives most of the 36 guna.
- Pada
- Each nakshatra has four quarters (padas) of 3°20′.
How our free kundli is calculated
We compute sidereal positions with the Lahiri (Chitrapaksha) ayanamsa, the convention used by most North Indian panchangs. Houses use whole signs from the lagna, shown in the North Indian diamond chart.
Birth time is converted using the historical time zone for the birthplace (India used UTC+6:30 during 1942–45, for example), so old birth dates are not shifted by an hour.
If the birth time is unknown, we never quietly assume noon as exact. Lagna and houses are marked unavailable, and the Moon's possible nakshatras for the day are listed.
Common questions
Do you store my birth details?
No. Free kundli is calculated in your browser. Nothing is sent to our servers unless you later choose to save it to an account.
Why might another site show a slightly different result?
Different ayanamsa, house systems or rounding can move a planet near a sign or nakshatra boundary. We show our convention and engine version on every result.
Can I use this for matching?
Yes. After calculating, tap “Use for kundli matching” to carry the Moon details into guna milan.
